Summary: The campus is located just off Meiji-dori, a major road thoroughfare, a short walk east of JR Shinjuku station. It is one subway stop from the Shibuya campus. The local area is a bustling shopping district, and in the evenings turns into a very popular night life area (with Kabuki-cho as it’s core), however the area is very safe.

There are literally thousands of bars, cafes, and restaurants in the local area. It is one of the key entertainment areas of Tokyo, and yet despite all the noise nearby, the campus is in a quiet location.

To the northwest, within walking distance, clustered around JR Shin-Okubo station, is Tokyo’s Koreatown. To the southeast, it is about a 600 meter walk to the Shinjuku entrance of the vast gardens and lawns of Shinjuku Gyoen. Transportation connections are excellent, as JR Shinjuku is the world’s busiest train station.

For shopping, apart from Shinjuku itself, the popular Harajuku area is just 2 stations away,. The trains and subway can be crowded during peak hour, but it is easy to get to/from Shinjuku from just about anywhere in Tokyo’s vast metropolitan area within 45 minutes.
